Kim Komljanec is a playwright, dramaturg and theatre director from Slovenia. Her first professional visit to the UK was the Royal Court Theatre residency for international playwrights. But it was after completing her MA in playwriting at the University of Exeter (UK), that Kim decided to stay in the UK and ended up living (t)here for almost a decade. She writes in English and Slovenian and has had plays produced in Slovenia, the UK and USA by theatres of all shapes and sizes, from one-man street entertainers to big repertory venues. Her radio work has been produced by Slovenian National Radio (RTV Slovenia) and Italian RAI. Kim teaches playwriting courses in Slovenian and English and works with drama teachers. The biggest challenge Kim has ever had to overcome as a bilingual theatre maker, was to perform in an improv show using her second language.
