Beniamin M. Bukowski is a Polish playwright and theatre director. He is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University (Interfaculty Individual Studies in Humanities with MAs in History of Art and in Philosophy) and the State Academy for Dramatic Arts in Cracow (MA in Theatre Directing). He is currently a PhD student at Jagiellonian University Department of Philosophy.
Both his texts and stagings have gained national and international recognition. His play presented in this festival won the Audience Prize in Gdyńska Nagroda Dramaturgiczna, the most prestigious Polish drama competition, was translated into English, French (with public reading during the In Section of Festival d’Avignon and publication) and Georgian (publication planned for December). It was staged in many Polish theatres, and has been adapted as a TV play by the Documentary and Feature Film Studios (WFDiF) in Warsaw (directed by the author, premiere in January 2019).
